How we show manaakitanga for our community.

How we show manaakitanga for our community.

At WGP, we always seek ways to demonstrate our values and connect to the community. Each year we support Love Soup, a charitable trust that does amazing work locating and distributing food to people in need. Read on to find out more about our mahi...

Our Year 11 Food Technology learners support our community by preparing a frozen/reheatable meal that will be donated to our local food bank Love Soup. The idea is to develop a healthy and tasty meal that uplifts the receiver's spirit and fills their puku. There's freedom in their meal choice, but recipes are constrained by prep/cooking time and they must be tasty and reheat well.

These industrious Year 11s made many tasty dishes, from butter chicken to cottage pie. They have been spending their time developing their recipes to ensure they are tasty and reheated well. Each group was well-organised and very professional in their approach to this project.
