$1,900 raised for charity!

$1,900 raised for charity!

Relay For Life is a community fundraising event full of energy and emotion. Whether you have a connection to someone who has been or is going through cancer, or you just want to make a difference - Relay For Life is for you! Jasmine O'Loughlin felt that way and decided to make an impact! She organised for 25 Whangapārora College learners from years 7-13 to participate in Relay for Life on Saturday 6th April.

Jasmine booked three vans and arranged for a parent and teacher (Maegan Fromont) to transport the learners. The group arrived at school at 7:15 am and got to the AUT Millennium Stadium at 8:30 am for a 10 am start. The learners participated in the relay for 12 hours!!!!! raising money for cancer. Everyone worked as a team completing 500+ laps and gaining $1,900 in donations. This is an impressive achievement for Jasmine who is extremely passionate about this cause and also working towards her goal to be awarded a prefect badge before the end of the year.

Jasmine is still taking donations for the Cancer Society - see below.
